Jreamwriter's - BENT is a domestic violence awareness film project based on actual true events and the characters and situations taken from the novel, The Rainbow through the Eyes of a Closet Homosexual's Wife, by Jreamwriter. The film focuses on the lead character, Kyleena, played by Melanie Richardson, who portrays an emotionally, psychologically, physically, and spiritually abused woman of bi-racial beauty ethnicity and poor parental conditioning. The film shows how Kyleena finds herself in a third marriage with a man, Alex, played by Zerrick Williams, who has advertised himself to be a straight and holy man of God. Only, as the story progresses, Alex's sexuality becomes more and more transparent and unlike that which was originally advertised. In the film, Kyleena finds that her spirituality, marriage, family, friendships, dreams, views of homosexuality, and sanity are all put to the test as she learns only God can help her fight off demons of abuse, depression, alcoholism, and suicide. Applied in the field and study of social work or psychology, this film addresses the signs and co-morbidities associated with, often under-addressed, under-acknowledged, and routinely minimized, facets of domestic violence; psychological, emotional and spiritual abuse.
