"BENT" Short Film News

"BENT" Short Film News BENT is a film short/screenplay adaptation from the novel, The Rainbow through the Eyes of a Closet Homosexual's Wife, by Jreamwriter. The story surrounds the main character, Kyleena, an emotionally distraught and mentally abused victim of her own bi-racial beauty and parental conditioning. The story examines how Kyleena finds herself in a third marriage with a man, Alex, who has advertised himself to be a straight and holy man of God. Only, as the story progresses, Alex's sexuality becomes more and more transparent and unlike that which was originally advertised. As Kyleena fights demons of denial, depression and suicide, as well as mental, physical, and substance abuses, she finds that her spirituality, marriage, family, friendships, dreams, views of homosexuality, and sanity are all put to the test. Applied in the field and study of social work, this fictionalized work addresses the signs and co-morbidities associated with two often under-addressed, under-acknowledged, and routinely minimized, facets of domestic violence, psychological and spiritual abuse; conditions, if left untreated, can precursor the manifestations of mental and physical breakdowns statistically linked to depression, substance abuse, poor health & eating habits, abortion & miscarriage, and suicide.
